Honsu: The largest Island of Japan

Honshu ( 本州) is the largest island of Japan. The west is adjacent Japan sea, the length of island is about 1300 kilometers. The area of Honsu is accounting for 60 percent of Japan's area. Honshu is the largest island of Japan and is the 7th largest island in the world.
The coastline around the island about 5,450 km long. Honsu and Hokkaido island facing through the Tsugaru Strait in Northern and facing Kyushu and Akashi through Seito Naikai and Akashi Strait in Southwestern. All island is connected by ferry, bridge and tunnel system.

There is the famous Fuji mountain on Honsu island. It is the highest mountain of japan about 3,776 m, and this is the active volcano. There are many rivers on the island, including the Shinano River which is the longest river in the country. The various climate of the island from the cool temperate northern to subtropical southern.

Honshu Island has the second largest population in the world, after Indonesia's Java island. There are has many big city on Honsu island include Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Hiroshima, Sendai and Nagoya. On the Honsu island has 34 provinces. The important cultural center of Japan is include Nara, Kyoto, Osaka, Tokyo, Kamakura is located on the island of Honshu.
In Honshu island has many important industrial regions of Japan, which is Keihin, Northern Kanto, Chukyo, Hanshin. However, Seto Naikai industrial is between Honshu and Shikoku.
